The online support remains, but will be discontinued in the future.
Of the many great titles that Square Enix has published in recent years, Dissidia Final Fantasy NT stitch stabbed a painful thumb. Although it is the latest in a series-celebrated series, it received a total of mixed reactions. The development team has supported it with updates and new characters as well as a free version, but that will soon stop.
In a recently published LiveStream (Translated by RPG Site), Producent Ichiro Hazama said that support will end for all platforms. One last update for the arcade version will be published on February 20, while PC and PS4 receive it on March 5th. The online support for the title continues, but that will end at some point.
It also seems the future of Dissidia Final Fantasy franchise is in doubt. Director Takeo Kujiraoka explained: We do not want to make false predictions, so we want to make it clear that there are currently no plans for one _ [dissidia Final Fantasy] 2_ at all. The last update will add Ardyn of Add Final Fantasy 15 and also offer a Couple of balance changes.
Although this is not completely unexpected, it is still a shame to see that support for the title. If interest in a continuation is strong enough, maybe we'll see a whole line. Until then, stay on it to find more details.
