Final Fantasy VII Remake had to cut secondary quests to keep a high quality and be launched in the Temp

In interviews with Famitsu and 4Gamer, the director Tetsuya Nomura revealed that Square Enix had to cut a lot of "secondary quest content" from Final Fantasy VII_ReMake.

Square Enix OBSESSION with Tetsuya Nomura: Why he should stop directing future square enix games. Initially, the contents of the secondary quest had to "be as big as the main story", but this plan had to be reorganized to maintain high quality throughout the game.

"We have done that the content of the secondary quest is as big as the main story," said Nomura to Japanese magazines.

"At first, the development team has prepared even more content, but we could not have done everything without cutting the corners, so we preferred the quality," he added.

"We could not finish the game otherwise," said Nomura about the game calendar, which had been expected for a long time after his original ad in 2015. And yet, a second part is still in development and will be released in several years.

The fans of the new action RPG have nothing to fear, anyway, because "despite this, the game is big enough, there are many places that you can visit, and you can even move by using vehicles at times. "

The annex content will include mercenary quests and battle relationship quests, as Square Enix has recently detailed in a blog article.

The mercenary quests will see "Citizens and Merchants in Midgar (...) will ask for help at Cloud." These "could be something of slaughtering some annoying monsters to help find lost cats."

Battle report quests will ask Cloud to use "Evaluate Materia a number of times, or overcome enemies in a specific way." Once completed, battle report quests will allow players to ask Chadley to make new Materia and buy them for a cost.

REMAKE DE FINAL FANTASY VII comes out on April 10, 2020 for PlayStation 4, after the last minute period compared to its initial launch date of March 3rd. A demo is now available on the PlayStation Store.

Changes from the original game also include Red XIII not being a playable character, but only a guest in the last parts of the remake.
