Kingshunt is newly started on Steam in the Early Access and brings massive fantasy content. It is also an arena PVP game that represents a mix of for honor, a moba and the style of Warhammer Fantasy. Learn here, how it plays and what everything inks.
What is Kingshunt? According to the description on Steam, Kingshunt is a 3rd-person online multiplayer action game that combines tower-defense elements and hack-and-slash.
In fact, the game looks like a version of for Honor, in which the developers have packed pretty much every fantasy-viech in the last decades. Thus, the NPC opponents remember all sorts of beings and creatures from Warhammer Fantasy.
Also the playable heroes are tree shops, gloomy elf creatures or a seductive magician reminiscent of Warhammer.
Who are the developers? Behind the game is the Finnish Indie-Studio Vaki Games founded in 2016. Kingshunt is currently the only project of the studio.
Moba Gameplay and Fantasy Content - The Features of Kingshunt
What are the peculiarities of Kingshunt? The developers described their GAME as a mixture of Tower Defense and Hack-and-Slay. But what exactly is meant? We from Meinmmo have viewed the game on Steam times:
- The game principle is similar to that of a moba, such as lol or smite. You choose to start a unique hero and must either destroy a big bare in the opposing camp as an attacker or protect it as a defender.
- Unlike e.g. in Lol, where the towers and minions are given, you can set up the defense systems themselves and set the march direction of the Minion hosts.
- If you like to have a flame thrower tower exactly before the base or want a company orkse in the right lane, you can make all this yourself.
- In addition, you can continue to pour your heroes in the game with runes. The resources collect you in the game.
How does it play? As an attacker you have to escort a kind of siege device in the 5VS5 to the enemy basis. This plays like a typical payload mode and the rolling monster moves only if you keep your environment free from enemies.
If the thing comes to the enemy, it gradually disassembles its central NPC. On the way, one hits around with the enemy minions and defends stunning attacks of the opposing players. In the Fights you use primary and secondary attacks as well as three unique skills that are equipped with a cooldown. Did you get you out, you have to wait a time before round-ends or powerful fireballs are possible.
As a defender, it runs similarly, except that you keep the payload as free from enemies as possible and then hinder the forwardrumming.
All this is quite fast and dynamic, but does not expect a smooth polished opus with the budget of an AAA title as for Honor. But for an indie title it plays pleasantly fleet and the gloomy fantasy look is reminiscent of the flair of Warhammer Fantasy.
When is Kingshunt? Kingshunt started recently on August 25, 2021 in the Early Access on Steam and is expected to stay there for a year at this stage until it is released.
A similar game with brutal action and gloomy setting is the new Blood of Heroes published in the open-beta.
